Connecting media files with your devices with Zimly [Chromecast App of the Day]
Most people have different media files on all of your different devices. Zimly is a free service that you can use to connect and access all of your media on your computer to your other devices. After installing the app on your computer and other devices, connecting is fairly simple. Zimly gives you 3 login options to connect your devices: Google login, Facebook login, or a pin number. Before your files will show up in the app, you will have to point the app to the files. Once the setup is complete, you will have access to all of your files everywhere.
Since we focus on Chromecast apps, casting videos work great. An icon appears on the video letting you know that it can be cast. There are 2 downsides to casting with this app. The first is that you can’t cast video files that are only on your phone. The second is that you can’t cast music from either your phone or computer. These are the only downsides, and it is possible that they could come in a future update.
