Google readying proper app portal for cast-ready apps

Google will soon introduce a proper portal for discovering apps, games, and other titles, according to new reports. An email being sent out to developers indicates that Google is gathering details for listings on Android, iOS, and Chrome apps. As you might expect, this storefront will ultimately replace the chromecast.com/apps page which currently only showcases a small number of titles.

It appears Google wants to create an all-in-one portal that provides information, links, and other helpful items. Once realized, we should look for topics such as TV& Movies, Sports, Kids, News, and more. Google has a session slated for Google I/O next week which outlines app discoverability so we’re certain this could go live by the end of the month.

FINALLY! Its about time they make it easier to find apps that work with chromecast. Its pretty silly I had to download a 3rd part app that lets me know when new chromecast apps are released. Their current chromecast app page leads you to believe their are only 15 or so apps when there are many, many, more.
