HP and Toshiba to release new Chromebooks in October
HP and Toshiba are releasing updates and new versions of their Chromebook lines soon.
Toshiba is releasing a 13.3-in Chromebook in two different variants. Both models will have Wi-Fi (a/c) connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 port, HDMI-out, an SD-Card reader and a 720p webcam. For $249, you will get a 1366×768 display, a dual-core Intel Celeron N2840 processor and 2GB RAM. For $329 you will get a quicker processor, a full HD display, and 4GB RAM. Both of these Toshiba Chromebooks will be released on October 5th, in three different color options: charcoal, aqua and rose.
HP has two very different models coming. First up is an update to their current 11-inch model. Hardware includes Intel’s Celeron N2830 processor, 2GB/4GB RAM, 16GB of storage, USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports, HDMI out, a 36-hr battery, and Wi-Fi (802.11ac or 802.11n), Bluetooth, and optional LTE/HSPA connectivity. This 11-inch model starts at $279.99 and will be release on October 5th in 3 different colors: ocean turquoise, snow white, and twinkle black.
HP is also releasing a 14-inch model that has all the same specs as aforementioned model with the exception of one thing – the processor. This particular Chromebook will be powered by NVIDIA’s new Tegra K1 processor. The K1 processor is a next-generation CPU that delivers exceptional battery life, powerful graphics capability and an overall greater computing experience. This model will start at $299, and come in four different colors: smoke silver, sorbet orange, ocean turquoise, and neon green.
