Now Casting: Mezzmo, A Faster Reader, and StreamFeed Player
Here’s a quick post to let you guys know about a couple of Android apps which recently picked up Chromecast capability. One of these has been around a while now and have become rather popular; the other two are relatively newer. Is there a common thread between them? No, but that’s what’s so great about the growing platform that is Google casting.
- Mezzmo – A DLNA / UPnP digital media controller which lets users browse media servers and push files to devices such as TV, Blu-ray players, home theaters, and AV receivers. In addition to their own service, this one works with Serviio, Plex, UMS, Twonky, TVMobili, iSedora, JRiver, and others.
- A Faster Reader – Employing the “Rapid Serial Visual Presentation” method, this app will have you reading much faster than you’ve ever imagined (up to 1,000 WPM). Integrates with multiple services and plays nicely with your other Android apps.
- StreamFeed Player – Will need a bit of help to get kinks ironed out but this app lets users watch live streams of movies, sports, and TV shows. User-generated and submitted links are broken down by category making for quick access to on-demand content.
