Simpletv_chromecast

Simple.TV on Thursday announced that its “whole-planet DVR” system has added Chromecast support as well as offline playback. Offered as a free update to the existing experience, these two features add a whole new level of DVR capability.

“We have a very engaged customer base who has told us what they like about Simple.TV and what they’d like to see. These changes are largely a reflection of that, which has resulted in a much more robust product to suit the marketplace,” said chief executive officer, Mark Ely. “With these upgrades, Simple.TV is truly your personal streaming DVR at home or on the road.”

Simple.TV is available to customers living in the United States and Canada; a device acts as a private TV server which records live HDTV and delivers broadcasts to up to 5 of your friends and family at once.

Mobile users who go in and out of data coverage will certainly appreciate the offline feature as it downloads your broadcasts to PCs and Macs. Synchronize the shows up with your Android or iOS device (MP4 format) and you’ll be able to watch without touching your data bucket.

Simple.TV is offered in a variety of packages, including bundles with hardware or standalone service. Subscriptions for the Premiere service are $59 annually or $149 for lifetime usage

Chromecast support is now available in updated versions of Simple.TV’s Android and iOS apps, available for free from their respective App stores.
