Slingbox on its way to Chromecast, report indicates

slingbox

Slingbox is readying its Chromecast experience, according to a forum posting from a Slingbox employee. What’s more, TechHive reached out to Slingbox who then added they are “clearly interested in expanding platform support [and] bringing the home TV experience…to more devices.” Taking things one step further, Dave Zatz advises he can confirm the rumors and that it’s happening “soon”.

Slingbox is a service/device that streams your video signal to a mobile device or browser. Be it from your cable provider, satellite receiver, or other unit, it lets users watch their DVRs and live TV from remote devices. With Slingbox it’s a breeze to catch up on The Walking Dead on your smartphone or tablet while traveling. We might expect a seamless experience that takes your mobile viewing experience and casting back to another large TV. Instead of watching your DVR on a phone you can send it to your buddy’s TV.
